TCL, the Creative Life…
With its three initials stand for “The Creative Life,” TCL’s byline sums up the company’s original position as a global market and technological innovation leaders in high-tech consumer electronics, mobile communications and home appliances.
TCL proudly celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. The group’s roughly 50,000 employees are sharing the pride across its Multimedia, Communications, Home Appliances, and Techne Electronics divisions at over 80 sites worldwide, including 18 R&D centers, 20 manufacturing bases and more than 40 sales offices.
As one of today’s leading manufacturers of TVs, Blu-ray Disc players, DVD players, air conditioners, and GSM and CDMA mobile phones, TCL served more than 100 million consumers around the world in 2010, with global sales of USD 8 billion (including 13 million TV sets and 36 million mobile handsets).
TCL Multimedia operates under Thomson and TCL brands in Europe. Its dedicated European manufacturing platform is located in Zyrardow (near Warsaw), with an annual production capacity of more than 2 millions LCD or LED TVs. Gradually completing its vertical integration process, the group opened a vast LCD and LED module assembly facility in Huizhou, China in 2009, followed by a 4 billion USD investment in the construction of a world-class Generation 8.5 panel plant in Shenzhen this year. This new manufacturing hub in China gives us full control of our industrial chain: it guarantees perfect panel integration into our overall system design, and also establishes our global leadership status and technology innovation capabilities for the new decade.
